CosmoYum is made by one person, so answers take a few days rather than a few minutes — but every message is read by a human, not a queue.

If something went wrong, these three lines save a round of questions:

Why are the numbers different from another app?

Because they are estimates, and every app estimates differently. A photo does not show how much oil went into the pan or what a portion weighs. Treat the figures as a good starting point, and correct any of them — every number in a record is editable, and the corrected value is what counts towards your day.

The app said the wrong dish

Edit it. Tap the entry and change the name, the weight or any of the nutrients. Your correction is kept alongside the original estimate, which is how we find out where the model is systematically wrong.

The barcode wasn’t found

Product data comes from Open Food Facts, a public database filled in by volunteers, so plenty of local products simply aren’t there. When that happens the app offers to read the nutrition label from a photo — aim at the panel with the numbers, not the front of the package. If the label has no figures either, the app can look the product up by name or estimate typical values for it.

Why is there a daily limit?

Each analysis is a paid request to an AI model. The daily limit is what keeps that cost survivable for a project this size — and what stops one account from exhausting it for everyone.

Allergen warnings

They are a help, not a guarantee. The app reasons about what it could see or read and will sometimes miss something. If a reaction would be dangerous for you, read the ingredient list yourself.

I want my data deleted

Email privacy@cosmoyum.app from the device you use the app on. Note that deleting the app does not delete your cloud data — the identifier that owns it lives on the device, so uninstalling makes the data unreachable rather than gone. Details are in the privacy policy.
