These terms apply when you use the CosmoYum app (“the App”). If you do not agree with them, please do not use the App.
The App is made and operated by an independent developer based in Ukraine. There is no company behind it and no support department — when you write to us, a person reads it.
The App estimates the nutritional content of food — calories, protein, fat and carbohydrates — from a photo, a description you type or dictate, or a product barcode. It keeps those entries in a diary and adds them up against goals it calculates from the profile you enter.
This is the most important thing on this page. The figures the App produces are approximations produced by a statistical model, not measurements. A photo cannot reveal how much oil went into a pan, what a sauce was made of, or how much a portion weighs; two plates that look identical can differ by a third or more. Barcode figures come from a public database contributed to by volunteers and can be wrong or out of date.
Every number in the App is editable, and correcting one is ordinary use rather than a malfunction. Do not rely on the App where an exact figure matters.
What the App collects, where it goes and how to have it deleted is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Recognitions are limited per account per day. The limit exists because every analysis costs real money to run, and without it a single account could exhaust the service for everyone.
Please do not: automate requests to the App or its servers, try to bypass the daily limit or the checks that confirm requests come from a genuine copy of the App, reverse-engineer or resell the service, or use it to build a competing dataset. We may suspend access that does any of these.
The App depends on services we do not control — Apple’s, Google’s, and a public food database. It can be unavailable, slow, or temporarily unable to analyse anything. We do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may change or discontinue features.
The App, its name and its design belong to us. Your diary entries and the corrections you make are yours; you grant us only what is needed to store them and show them back to you, and — in a form that is not linked to you — to measure where our estimates tend to be wrong so they can be improved.
The App is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions you make on the basis of its estimates, for health outcomes, or for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
You can stop using the App at any time and have your data deleted as described in the privacy policy. We may end access if these terms are broken.
These terms change when the App does — most immediately, when paid subscriptions are introduced, which will add their own section on price, renewal and cancellation. Material changes are announced in the App, and the effective date above always reflects the current version.
These terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without affecting any consumer rights you have under the law of your own country of residence.
